What is a Pass-Through Window?

A pass-through window opens your kitchen to patios, covered porches, or backyard kitchens. It’s basically a window that functions like a serving counter between two spaces. You can hand food and drinks through, talk to guests outside, or let more light and air move between the two areas.

Our pass-through awning windows open outward to 90 degrees, creating a wide and unobstructed opening. They can be used in kitchens, bars, pool houses, and other residential or commercial spaces where an active opening is needed.

OpenUp Windows also offers no-sill gas strut models in a range of standard sizes. Custom dimensions are available when one of the standard products does not match your opening.

Why Choose Us for Custom Pass-Through Windows?

Built to Your Opening Dimensions

OpenUp Windows does not rely only on one-size-fits-all products. Standard and custom sizes are available, allowing the window to be built around the dimensions required for your project.

You provide the rough-opening measurements when placing the order. The customer service team can help review sizing and answer questions before the window enters production.

Made With Extruded Aluminum and Accoya® Wood

OpenUp Windows use a hybrid framing system with structural extruded aluminum on the outside and Accoya® wood on the inside. The aluminum is structural rather than a thin decorative cladding layer.

Accoya® adds insulation and dimensional stability to the window system. The company also states that the material is PEFC and FSC certified, non-toxic, and sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Glass Options for Your Project

The standard OpenUp Windows glass package uses one-inch insulated glass made with two pieces of tempered glass separated by a spacer. Available upgrades include Low-E coatings, argon gas fill, and laminated glass.

For sunny climates and southern states, OpenUp Windows recommends asking about triple-silver soft coatings for greater solar protection and efficiency. The team can help you choose a glass package based on your project requirements.

Optional Pleated Screens

An optional retractable pleated screen can help keep flying insects and other outdoor pests from entering while the window is open. The OpenUp Windows Pleated Screen can remain at different positions and is factory-mounted to the window before shipping. It is available for OpenUp Windows of different sizes.

Clear Support During the Ordering Process

The customer service team can assist with measurements, sizing, glass choices, invoices, shipping information, and technical questions. OpenUp Windows also provides direct contact details for its production and customer-support staff.

FAQ's

Most frequent questions and answers
Can the gas strut awning window be opened partially for airflow?

No. Standard gas strut windows open fully to 90 degrees or remain fully closed. If you want adjustable ventilation at any position, the Motorised Strut System allows precise control.

All windows are delivered freight with tailgate service. You will need people available to unload the window from the tailgate and carry it to your installation location.

Contact the OpenUp® team before ordering. They will review your measurements with you. If an error does occur, OpenUp® will try to resell the window at a discount and credit you toward the correct replacement.
